Well I knew trouble was afoot this past weekend when no fewer than 17 member's of the Stanford Women's Soccer Club showed up to the field all within one minute of each other (I suspect there was a bus involved), and before any of our players had arrived. However, for all of their organization, we got the upper hand first in the game, going up 1-0 in the first half. Unfortunately, their superior numbers proved to be a large advantage on a rather hot day, with them able to send out wave after wave of fresh substitutes. We tired in the second half, and ended up rounding out the game losing 2-5.
The unfortunate news is that both Eileen and Synda were injured, status still to be determined. For all of those who noticed I was rather pissed off after the game, I assure you it was due to the injuries, and the behavior of the other team and the referees, it was not due to our performance. Under the circumstances we played very hard, and deserve a lot of credit.
